Since his signing to Atletico in June 2014 for €10 million, the Brazilian’s performance did not prove him worthy of the fee paid.

Judging by the only goal he scored at Atletico shows that he was never going to be competition for the left back position against his fellow Brazilian Filipe Luis. He has now ended his contract with Atletico and is currently a free agent.

NUMBER 10 – EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR.

Oh Adebayor.

The Tongolese striker became a favourite with Arsenal fans when he joined the club in 2006, scoring some important goals and racking up 104 appearances for the Gunners.

Everything was rosey, until Manchester City made a bid of around 25 million for the forward.

And just like that, he was gone – and many Arsenal fans felt that the reason for the move was about one thing; money.

The striker claimed he still loved Arsenal after his departure, and most fans didn’t buy it, (get it? Buy it.) but any love that was left for him in north London died after he faced Arsenal with Manchester City in 2009, a game in which he scored.. and then ran the entire length of the pitch, just to celebrate in front of the travelling fans of his former club, which provoked them to throw just about anything they could get their hands on in his general direction.

But wait, there’s more!

He then went on to play for Arsenal’s north London rivals Tottenham.

Oh dear, Adebayor.

Dybala set to be scouted by Premier League giants at Wembley

Man Utd to scout Paulo Dybala In Champions League clash at Wembley

Dybala may leave the Serie A champions this summer for a new challenge and it appears eyes will be on the 24-year-old when he plays at Wembley on Wednesday evening.

The Argentina international has been linked with the Red Devils as a potential target. Having returned from a hamstring injury, which kept him out of the first leg in Turin as Spurs drew 2-2 with Juventus, Dybala is expected to start tomorrow.

Manchester Utnited have made to clear that they will be watching Juventus’ Champions League clash with Tottenham closely tomorrow as they scout Paulo Dybala.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are said to be tracking Dybala’s situation too ahead of the summer. He is set to feature at the World Cup in Russia, but a transfer away from Juventus is possible only before the start of next season. Reports add that the Italian giants may make Dybala available for sale but will want around £150m.

Back in 2016, Red Devils paid a then world-record fee of £89m to re-sign Paul Pogba from Juventus.

They will have to break the bank and pay another club-record figure to buy Dybala.

But it appears a move is being considered with Jose Mourinho having the talented No.10 watched.

Dybala started for the first time since early January on Saturday, scoring a classy last-minute winner at Lazio in Serie A.

And if Tottenham are to progress to the Champions League quarter-finals, they will have to keep him quiet tomorrow.

De Gea wants Manchester United to sign three star players this summer

De Gea will snub Real Madrid and stay if Man Utd ‘sign Barcelona star and Juventus duo’.

Real Madrid are set to pursue David De Gea again at the end of the season.

Jose Mourinho is desperate to keep De Gea, whose contract at Old Trafford expires in 2019, but the Red Devils have the option for a one-year extension.

Man United still hope to persuade the world-class shot-stopper to agree a new deal and it appears Spain’s No.1 is ready to take advantage of his position at United.

According to Spanish reports, De Gea has put three names to the club that they should sign to strengthen the side.

De Gea is said to want Barcelona centre-half Samuel Umtiti, whose contract situation is still not sorted at the Nou Camp.

Umtiti has a buyout clause in his current deal worth just £53m.

Juve’s duo he included were – Argentine forward Paulo Dybala and midfielder Miralem Pjanic are desired by De Gea.

The Spaniard believes that they would offer the necessary quality at United for the club to compete on all fronts next season.

While there is still hope in the Champions League and FA Cup this term, Manchester City have shown they are a class above in the battle for the Premier League title.

BAYERN STAR OPENS DOOR TO BAYERN EXIT

Bayern Munich full-back David Alaba admits he will look for a new challenge in the future.

Major clubs across Europe may have been placed on high alert after David Alaba suggested he would be open to a move away from Bayern Munich.

Reports from Spain have claimed that Barcelona are long-term admirers of the 25-year-old Austrian and the La Liga leaders have been handed a huge boost after he revealed that he has not committed his long-term future to Bayern. But the Catalans have to fight off Premier League big boys Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City

Alaba said: “I am aware that one day I will have to make a decision. I feel good here, but also it’s true that I imagine myself taking a different path, taking a step forward or looking for a new challenge.

“It’s an exit that I leave open now. At the moment, I will focus on the goals that I have set for this season. I have goals and I am going to fight for them.

“What am I going to do in the future? It’s something that I ask myself, since I do not see myself here for another five years. In football everything happens very quickly and I know that there will come a time to make a decision. However, for now I only set myself short-term goals.”

Alaba is under contract at Bayern until 2021.

Ousmane Dembele open to Arsenal move on one condition

Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele open to Arsenal move on one condition.

The French winger, Ousmane Dembele could be tempted to join Arsenal this summer.

The Barcelona’s big money arrival has struggled to get regular game time this season under Ernesto Valverde. Dembele, 20, was sidelined through injury earlier this campaign and struggled to get going in La Liga following his move from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

However, even when fully fit, the attacker isn’t always Valverde’s first choice to partner Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in Barca’s attack and according to Spanish transfer reports, Dembele has become frustrated at the Nou Camp under Valverde.

They reckon Arsenal are desperate to land the France international this summer to partner him with his former Dortmund team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Dembele would be open to joining the Gunners if Barca sign Antoine Griezmann this summer, a deal that would push the winger further down the pecking order at the Nou Camp.

Dembele has started just four games in all competitions for Barca this time out, chipping in with two assists.

Arsenal, who have lost their last four games, are back in action on Thursday evening when the Gunners face AC Milan in the Europa League.

Liverpool vs FC Porto: UCL Match Preview

The Premier League club are in a strong position to reach the quarter-final after their dominant performance in Portugal in the first leg.

Jurgen Klopp to make only ‘two or three’ changes for the UCL clash.

Jurgen Klopp insists he will only make “two or three changes” to Liverpool’s side for their Champions League last-16 second leg against Porto on Tuesday despite the 5-0 advantage.

Klopp says he will make up to three changes to the XI which beat Newcastle 2-0 on Saturday, with Manchester United up next at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday.

For Liverpool, Gini Wijnaldum and Ben Woodburn could make an appearance after missing Saturday’s 2-0 win over Newcastle due to illness. Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana could also be in contention.

Tiquinho Soares, Moussa Marega and Alex Telles could all miss out for Porto after missing their win over Sporting Lisbon on Friday.

  • Liverpool are unbeaten against Porto, having played them five times in all competitions (W3 D2).
